Held on 11 November 2024, the inauguration ceremony was officiated by H.E. Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of HFZA, alongside Mr. Maniam Babu, Seagull’s founder and CEO. Dignitaries and senior representatives from both Singapore and the Middle East were in attendance, highlighting the international significance of this strategic move.
Seagull’s new UAE facility will provide an extensive suite of services including ship repair, maintenance, marine equipment development, electrical installations, and structural fabrication — targeting key sectors such as offshore oil, gas, and wind energy. With HFZA’s robust ecosystem and reputation as a marine innovation hub, Seagull aims to attract offshore oil companies and international shipowners seeking high-quality, efficient solutions.
H.E. Al Mazrouei welcomed Seagull’s expansion, stating that the company’s presence would drive maritime industry development across the UAE, with a particular focus on Sharjah. He expressed confidence in Seagull’s contribution to Sharjah’s growing maritime ecosystem, citing the free zone’s integrated support services as a magnet for global investors. He noted that Seagull’s investment aligns with HFZA’s strategy to boost the UAE’s position as a regional maritime powerhouse.
